Mega Flood Inundation Analysis and the Selection of Optimal Shelters

In recent decades, extreme storm events due to climate change have frequently occurred worldwide, a few of which even consecutively; we class such rainfall as mega events. That is say, if the inter-arrival time between with 100-year frequency less than IETD (Inter-Event Time Definition), event can be considered event. Therefore, aim this study was implement flood inundation analysis using hypothetical from two consecutively occurring frequency, and select optimal shelters developed method for minimizing casualties floods. The Gyeongan stream basin, tributary Namhan River in Korea, selected area. This calculates discharge SSARR (Stream Synthesis Reservoir Regulation) model, conducts floods via level pool HEC-GeoRAS model.
